Meet Belinda Bayliss
Belinda Bayliss
Belinda Bayliss — Psychologist | Supporting Women Through Perimenopause and Menopause
Belinda has spent almost two decades supporting clients of all backgrounds and presentations and continues to do how, however, she has now developed a special interest in supporting women in midlife, perimenopause and menopause
"Midlife isn’t a crisis. It’s just poor marketing."
Welcome — we are so happy you are here.
If you’ve found your way to this page, chances are you (or someone you love) is navigating the changes of perimenopause or menopause — and wondering if what you’re experiencing is normal.
Short answer: yes. And no. Yes, the changes are common. No, you absolutely don’t have to face them alone or without support.
I’m Belinda — a psychologist with more than 20 years of experience, and a woman who has walked this path myself.
At 26, I entered medical menopause following cancer treatment. The cancer part was talked about, supported, and treated seriously. The menopause? Barely mentioned. I was left to puzzle through the emotional rollercoaster, shifting hormones, identity questions, and cognitive changes on my own. (Cue the late-night Googling and many cups of tea.)
That experience lit a fire in me. Over the years, as I built my clinical practice and continued learning, I began to notice just how many other women were showing up in therapy with the same story:
"I don’t feel like myself anymore."
"No one told me this was part of menopause."
"I thought I was going crazy."
You are not crazy. You are not broken. You are not alone.
Today, my work centres on supporting women through this transition with compassion, clarity, and practical strategies. In therapy, we might explore:
- the emotional and cognitive impacts of hormonal changes
- managing anxiety, low mood, brain fog, and irritability
- rebuilding self-trust and a sense of identity
- navigating changing relationships
- setting boundaries and reclaiming space
- finding renewed purpose, pleasure, and possibility in midlife
I draw on Positive Psychology (which focuses on strengths and wellbeing), neurobiological insights, and my lived experience to offer support that is both evidence-informed and practical.
And yes — I will remind you often that there is so much more ahead for you.
Midlife is not the end of your relevance. It is not a season of decline. It’s a powerful time of growth and self-reclamation (even if it sometimes arrives wrapped in night sweats and self-doubt).
Our generation — with the strength of both GenX and Millennial women — are rewriting the script on what it means to thrive in midlife. We are challenging the double standards and questioning the industries that tell us we should be invisible after 40. We are choosing joy, community, and visibility — not quietly disappearing.
If that sounds like the kind of space you’d like to be supported in, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.
You are welcome here. 💛
